We who live in and love New Iberia, LA are very fortunate to be living in a time when there is substantial renovation activity in our downtown, and are fortunate also that our downtown retains so much of its historical building stock and small-urban atmosphere.

Update - July, 2014

This site was first created in the spring of 2001, when the Internet was younger and more identified with projects created by individuals, and less dominated by large corporate entities. It was a rewarding project, and I received some charming correspondence over the years.

When the site was 10 years old in 2011, I gave a passing thought to updating it, and even sketched out a design that might employ some GPS, mapping, etc., as well as updated photos. But other projects pressed harder for attention, and by the time I got back to this site again, I realized that much of what this site does can be seen in Google maps or such services as the map page at the Iberia Parish Assessor web site. So, I have left this site largely unchanged, as a visit down memory lane to not only an earlier collection of New Iberia photographs, but also an earlier Internet.
