| Went tonight with some Korean friends as
ordering guides to Woo Chon,
a Korean restaurant on 36th St. The barbecue is made at table on fire rings cut out of the middle
of the dining space, and is wonderfully tender. Everything else was good, too, but I'd have
to study the menu and consult with my friends before naming names. A nice dining experience. While there, got a call
on my cell phone from someone back in Louisiana whose son is here in New York studying for the summer, and whose
debit card was not working. He was down to subway fare for his morning class, with no idea of what
he would eat or even how he would get back after class! Went over and met him and gave him some cash, glad
to do the favor, including for the selfish reason that his mom, who called me, is reputed to be a wonderful cook. Hmmm! |

In NY for a few days for some
various business and a few pleasure details; went last night to BAM to see the new
White Oak program from
Baryshnikov, et. al. For the most part, it struck me as a dry, academic exercise. I was glad I
had seen it all, but didn't enjoy much of it as it happened. Two exceptions: a piece by new-to-me
John Jaspere, and a wonderfully witty solo for Baryshnikov choreographed by Mark Morris, which
really redeemed the evening. They say eating broccolli is good for you, too. |

| Is this really your chance to learn about "...one of the
most closely maintained secrets in human history"? Does a New Mexico cave really harbor what amounts to
"...a natural history museum from an alien race"? And is there really a super secret government agency
hiding all this from us? Visit WingMakers and examine
the evidence for yourself... |

This is a real find,
if you are as fond as I am of Thomas Hart Benton: The Navy Art Collection of
about two dozen works with Navy themes. Mostly works on paper. |

Oh, yes,
the wedding Saturday was just marvelous. Our
friends Sarah Trillin, whom we have known and loved forever; and Alex Ruttenberg,
whom we have known through Sarah and will love the rest of forever; were
married in a friend's home near Malibu. They went to Italy to honeymoon.
We came back home to work. |

Horrifying Asia sort of sounds
like Raising Arizona, but it's not a movie, it's an online collection
