| Quirky, fun Earth Calendar 2000 has observations and holidays from all over the globe, and is searchable in multiple ways, which yielded the wonderful bit of news that Susan's birthday this year will coincide with National Iguana Awareness Day! | ||||

| When I finally cooled off...sort of...from jogging and had my shower this evening, I wanted something cool to eat, and made myself a bowl of crackers and milk. Is this as southern as I think it is? My mother was from Forida, not all too far from the Georgia border. And although she never called any of us "honey chile," at least not that I can remember, she did teach us the rich comfort of a bowl of crackers and milk. Especially in the summer. If you've got any thoughts on any of this, please share. | ||||

| How soon will the slick browsers of today look primitive? Before you answer, check out Deja vu, which uses a group of emulators to show how today's pages look in yesterday's browsers. From what I read in various site logs, you can't be too sure that you're not being seen by someone with an "ancient" browser. Ancient meaning, from say, 1995. | ||||

| Susan and I gladly accepted a 24-hour layover in Montreal as part of our upcoming trip to Newfoundland, and that was even before we learned that the Musée de L'Orangerie show will be at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. This is one of those blockbuster shows that requires advanced ticketing, so I went to the Museum's site to find out what to do, and lo and behold, quickly was sent on my way to Admission.com, which offers online ticket buying of the variety that you print on your own printer. You output a page that includes a unique barcode that is scanned at the door; if a second try is made with the same code, there's a message for the attendant and you are then, presumably, dunked into a pit of alligators. Very cool. By the way, note the extenstion of the Admission.com page I'm referring you to. In sans-serif, it looks like "html" (hairy tiger must lunge), but in serif it is revaled to be "htmI" (have Tom march immediately). Wonder what that's in service of? | ||||
